Kevin Carr D’Agostino, 33, of Elmhurst, passed away on Monday morning, with his family by his side. Beloved son of Mario and Mary Carr D’Agostino; loving brother and best friend of Michael, twin brother of Elizabeth (Ryan Hogan), adoring brother of Carly (Ryan Letzeiser), Natalie and his dear late sister Julie.
Like Michael Jordan, Kevin was a guy that “never lost a game…just ran out of time”.
As a family, we are saddened that the buzzer went off way too soon. Kevin was born with Cystic Fibrosis, but didn’t live with
Cystic Fibrosis. He lived with boundless amounts of strength, optimism, courage, energy, love, loyalty and determination.
While others could say he was dealt a “bad hand”, Kevin was in it to win it. A “bad hand” was merely another challenge to him! If you met him, you never forgot him. He left you feeling better about yourself, you were inevitably “The Best”!
As a pediatric ICU nurse in Chicago or a traveling nurse in Austin, Texas or as a volunteer nurse on a medical mission trip to Iraq, Macedonia and Croatia, Kevin packed so much into his life. These opportunities and adventures were all made possible by his determination and dedication to physical exercise; it was what he lived by to keep himself healthy. While honored to care for and help patients at the bedside, Kevin wanted to do more in the medical field and in 2015 was proud to be accepted into Rush University esteemed CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) program, but that dream was cut short by a life altering brain injury in 2016.
Despite the overwhelming obstacles that Kevin came to know, including a double lung transplant, he kept himself busy, surrounded by family and friends, with lunches and dinners at his favorite restaurant Benihana’s and other eateries in Chicago and the suburbs. Thank you to all those who helped him stay occupied and engaged with their endless visits, love, encouragement, Backgammon, card games and stories that always ended with Kevin’s favorite exclamation of “NO WAY”!
Kevin fought the good fight, and now we all know he is in heaven catching up with his dear sister Julie.

Julie Carr D’Agostino, 22, of Elmhurst, passed away on Friday August 7th, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Beloved daughter of Mario and Mary Carr D’Agostino, loving sister to Michael, Kevin, Elizabeth (fiancé Ryan Hogan), Carly, and twin sister Natalie.
Adored niece, cousin, and friend to many, loyal companion to her dogs Tino and Kiwi. Deemed “Warrior Princess”, Julie fought a brave and courageous battle to the end, always maintaining a positive attitude and never wanting to give up despite the overwhelming obstacles in her way.
In her short life, Julie achieved a PhD (Personally her Degree) in design, fashion, cooking, organizing, crafting and hosting.
She will always be remembered for her strength, resilience, loyalty, love of Meryl Streep, fondness of shopping and all things “pink”. We know heaven is a little “pinker” with her in it.
Julie was a gift to all that had the fortune of knowing her and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She lit up the world with her smile and lit up the stage with her singing, dancing and acting.
May she enjoy the new stage she is on in heaven, entertaining the saints and angels and her dear Nonna who she is now with.
Too numerous to list, her family wishes to thank all of those who helped Julie on her journey, prayed for her strength and worked tirelessly to find comfort for her.
Friends and family will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, August 12, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 South York Road, (SE corner of York and Madison), Elmhurst. Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, Attn: Gwendolyn Blakemore, 425 Spring Lake Drive, Itasca, IL 60143 or Make a Wish America, 4742 N. 24th Street, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016-4862 or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd floor, Bethesda, MD 20814.

Michael Carr D’Agostino, 36, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 24th, 2021 in a tragic accident in Costa Rica.
He was the beloved son of Mario and Mary Carr D’Agostino, loving fiancé to Anika Temperante and proud father-to-be.
Michael was the protective oldest brother to the late Kevin, Elizabeth (Ryan Hogan), Carly (Ryan Letzeiser), Natalie (Jack Driggs) and the late Julie. He was a loving uncle to Reese, Benjamin, and Colin and a nephew, cousin, and loyal friend to countless others.
As the oldest of 6 kids, Michael learned responsibility and the importance of hard work at a young age and was groomed to be the best he could be by his father, best friend, and future Best Man, Mario.
Their bond went far beyond father and son, Michael always referring to his dad as “his Hero” and looking forward to living his life out, “The Mario Way”!
After graduating from Marquette University, Michael achieved the distinguished Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) designation. He was a gifted businessman, quickly excelling within the Chicago Commercial Real Estate market. Though always working to reshape Chicago’s landscape, his lasting impact will be seen in the relationships he built over the years and the continued good they will bring to the community.
Michael was never far from his next adventure. Whether he was seeking strength, health and happiness by spontaneously exploring the ends of the earth, skiing the steepest slopes, completing a marathon or triathlon or channeling the Wim Hof Method, Michael was forever dedicated to advancing his mental and physical fitness and was always in pursuit of his best self.
He practiced daily meditation and exercise, living by the phrase, “Do More. Be Present”!
Michael met the love of his life, Anika, in 2015 and asked her to spend their forever together this past December. To all who knew their love story… they completed one another’s lives. They shared not only their love for one another but were thrilled to learn they are expecting a child this September.
We know Michael would have been the BEST father and would have shown his son or daughter the true value of life, just like he showed all who knew him. Michael didn’t get to say farewell, and we didn’t get to say goodbye. Until we meet again… We love you, Michael D.
